A desperate Trump will do anything to save his skin. Including diverting attention by starting another major war in the middle east, either by design or miscalculation. Unfortunately, the press never seems to understand that Trump is a master at wagging-the-dog. Whenever the press coverage turns to his crimes the liar-in-chief does something outrageous to change the subject. For years now he’s been race-baiting as favorite tactic, especially as it relates to the border. He also does it to motivate his ‘base.’ That isn’t working so much anymore. He needs a new distraction. Why not a war with Iran? We can’t put it past Trump. Anybody for a new ‘Gulf of Tonkin’?
President Trump denied a report from the New York Times that his top national security aides discussed a plan to send up to 120,000 troops to the Middle East in case of a fallout with Iran, adding that if they were planning to, “we’d send a hell of a lot more troops than that.”
…Bolton and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo have been warning of an unspecified “escalating threat” from Iran in recent weeks, after receiving intelligence from Israel about a possible Iranian plot to attack U.S. interests in the region. Trump told reporters Monday that he’d been “hearing little stories about Iran,” adding: “If they do anything, they will suffer greatly.”
